Two Rivers Correctional Institution in Umatilla has six dogs trained by prisoners who are available for adoption.
The dogs are part of Two River’s Rehabilitating Offenders and Canines Program. Each dog is trained in basic commands and received the American Kennel Club Good Citizen certification. The adoption fee is $150. All dogs are vaccinated, spayed or neutered and microchipped.
The public is invited to meet Rex, Lady, Gus, Annabelle, Chewy and Alley from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 25 at Del’s Feed and Farm Supply in Hermiston. Adoption applications will be available, along with the opportunity to meet and interact with the dogs. Del’s is at 2055 N. First St. in Hermiston.
