An Irrigon, Ore., motorcyclist died Thursday afternoon in a crash a half-mile north of Starbuck, Wash.
William S. Hill V, 65, was trying to pass another vehicle just before 3 p.m. while driving north on Highway 261on his 2004 Harley Davidson SE 2, according to the Washington State Patrol. Hill then left the road to the left, went off the southbound shoulder and over a 30-foot embankment, state patrol said.
Hill’s motorcycle came to rest on a gravel access road, state patrol said. Hill, who was wearing a helmet, died at the scene. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
