Registered nurse Susy Bockman-Thomas, with microphone, leads the group in singing happy birthday to Eden Acosta, 2, of Pasco, during the Benton-Franklin Health District Nurse-Family Partnership graduation Thursday at the Pasco Police Department Training Center.
Also pictured are, from left, Dr. Amy Person, Marie Hutson, Alan Acosta, Benjamin Acosta, 3 months, and Ines Magana.
The Nurse-Family Partnership graduated its first nine families who entered the program in 2013. The program pairs first-time moms with registered nurses who regularly visit the women’s homes during pregnancy through the child's first two years of life.
The program is intended to improve child health and development as well as increase family self-sufficiency. Watch a video at www.tricityherald.com.
