Get ready for a weekend that’s likely to feel more like July or August in the Tri-Cities.
High temperatures could be just a degree or two short of 100 by Sunday, according to the National Weather Service. That’s nearly 20 degrees above normal for early June.
By Friday the high should be just below 90 degrees, with Saturday’s high in the mid 90s. The high Sunday could be 98 or 99 degrees in parts of the Tri-Cities away from the Columbia River.
Nightime lows also will be warmer than usual. The temperature may not fall below 67 degrees Sunday night.
The heat is expected to continue through Tuesday with highs early in the work week predicted from 97 to 99 degrees.
