The Arlene's Flowers case is moving forward again, after the judge who was presiding joined the federal bench.
Judge Alex Ekstrom now is handling the case in Benton County Superior Court.
A status conference was held Wednesday morning, and a trial date is expected to be set for the spring, said Alicia Berry, a Kennewick attorney who's helping represent Barronelle Stutzman and her Richland flower shop.
Hearings on some summary judgment motions are expected in the next few months.
The state attorney general's office sued Stutzman and her shop last year after she declined to create flower arrangements for the wedding of a same-sex couple, citing her religious beliefs. The couple also filed a lawsuit.
