Kids's Duck Conservation Day planned Sept. 13 at McNary wildlife refuge

BURBANK -- Hands-on and educational activities are planned from 8 a.m. to noon Sept. 13 for Kid's Duck Conservation Day at the McNary National Wildlife Refuge.

Duck banding, which depends on trapping wild ducks, will start at 8 a.m. and last about 30 minutes.

Also planned are pond life identification, Labrador retriever demonstrations, taxidermy and gun safety.

The free event is sponsored by the Richland Rod and Gun Club, Ducks Unlimited, Sand and Sage Hunting Retriever Club and the Friends of the Mid-Columbia River National Wildlife Refuges.

The McNary education center is at 64 Maple St., Burbank.
