Pasco schools see 2.4 percent enrollment bump in first week

The Pasco School District saw an increase of 389 students, or 2.4 percent, in the first week of classes, said a news release.

A total of 16,586 students are enrolled in all grades this year.

-- 8,433 students in grades K-5, an increase of 59 students, or 0.70 percent.

-- 3,740 students in grades 6-8, an increase of 121 students, or 3.34 percent.

-- 4,410 students in grades 9-12, an increase of 209 students, or 4.98 percent.

District officials will meet after the Labor Day holiday to make decisions on class overloads and the possible transfer of some students.
