WALLA WALLA -- Jefferson Park Pond in Walla Walla got a special delivery Monday -- 500 catchable rainbow trout and 50 jumbo trout.
Tucannon Fish Hatchery made the delivery. It was the third so far this spring, with one more planned in May, a news release said.
The pond is designated as a juvenile fishing area, open only to youths ages 14 and younger. Adults may help kids but aren't allowed to fish.
The pond is open for fishing from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. year-round.
The state Department of Fish and Wildlife governs fishing at the pond, the release said. Jefferson Park is at 607 Malcolm St.
