A watercolor painting commissioned by Clover Island Inn in Kennewick was swiped from the hotel in the middle of last week, and hotel officials want to see it returned.
Some older youths were seen near the painting and may have been involved, officials said.
The painting, which is 22-by-30-inches not including the frame, shows the hotel and the Columbia River, with boats and even a hydroplane on the water.
Local artist Ginger Blodgett created the piece last year. Her daughter, Amber Martin, is the hotel’s director of sales and marketing.
Martin said the painting was hanging near The Crow’s Nest restaurant.
The hotel created some postcards from the painting, which provided a good perspective of Clover Island, Martin said. “All the hours she spent on it — we’d really like to have it back if possible,” Martin said.
Anyone with information on the painting should call Kennewick police at 628-0333.
