Christmas will come early to the Tri-Cities -- on an 80-foot truck and trailer.
The nation's U.S. Capitol Christmas tree -- an 88-foot Englemann spruce -- will be stopping in the Tri-Cities on Nov. 9.
It'll be in the parking lot of the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick where there will be a free family event from 4 to 5:30 p.m. with music, photo opportunities and Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
The tree is coming from Pend Oreille County and will make several stops across the country before arriving in Washington, D.C., in time for Thanksgiving.
Some Tri-City Girl Scouts helped make tree skirts for the 80 smaller companion trees that will decorate other government offices this holiday season.
