The trial for a 19-year-old Richland man charged in the July 4 shooting death of a friend has been moved to
Nov. 4. Joshua H. Hunt waived his right to a speedy trial on Wednesday and agreed to the 10-week delay in Benton County Superior Court.
Hunt and co-defendant John C.I. Young, 18, are charged with first-degree murder.
Prosecutors allege that after an all-night party, the two men took Josh Snapp to a remote area near Richland's Beardsley Road so they could smoke marijuana.
After firing two warning shots, Hunt shot Snapp in the chest, court documents state. Young then shot the 17-year-old in the head, documents said. Young's trial is Nov. 18.
