Yakima Valley man wins $6.1 million Lotto

SUNNYSIDE -- A Yakima Valley man has won $6.1 million playing Lotto in Washington's Lottery.

The man who asked to remain anonymous told Lottery officials that he realized he had won on Sunday morning when he checked his numbers online. "I had to have my family members verify the numbers. I felt disbelief and then excitement," he said.

He said he plans to donate some money to local charities, such as food banks, and invest the rest for retirement and his three children's college education.

He said he's a regular lottery player. "This is more than I could've ever imagined," he said.

The winning ticket was sold by Bi-Mart in Sunnyside, and the store will receive a selling bonus check for $61,000.
