Richland has named a new city attorney.
Heather Kintzley starts at the end of the month, replacing Tom Lampson, who’s retiring after nearly three decades with the city.
Kintzley graduated second in her class from Gonzaga University’s law school and has worked as a deputy prosecutor in Benton County, an assistant Kennewick city attorney and Kennewick's human resources director, a news release said.
She’s also a member of the Kennewick School Board.

“The variety of Heather’s experience and the vast breadth of her accomplishments helped cement the decision to hire her,” Richland City Manager Cindy Johnson said in a news release.
Kintzley added in the release that she’s “excited for this opportunity to serve the City of Richland, and I really appreciate the warm welcome I've received from city staff. Everyone has been supportive and encouraging, which is wonderful during times of transition.”
