PASCO -- About $4,900 has been collected for a Pasco horse rescue farm in need of donations.
Spot-O-Faith Farm's operator Linda Christiano said she has received checks totaling about $2,400, as well as donations of feed and hay for the farm, and some new volunteers.
"This is going to be a huge financial help," she said.
Keith Silliman, owner of Farmers Exchange in downtown Kennewick, said he was amazed at how quickly people donated money after just a day of nonprofit Spot-O-Faith's need.
"I can't imagine what's been dropped off at the other sites," he said.
Christiano took in three horses recently after they were seized by the Franklin County Sheriff's Office for neglect. However, she said she didn't have a way to pay for the animals' feed.
Anyone who wants to donate to or volunteer at the rescue farm can contact Spot-O-Faith on Facebook or by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Columbia Grain and Feed in Pasco and branches of Yakima Federal Savings and Loan also are taking donations for the nonprofit, along with Farmers Exchange.D
