Officials of National Merit Scholarship Corporation have announced the names of about 16,000 semifinalists in the 58th annual National Merit Scholarship Program.
These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 8,300 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $32 million that will be offered next spring.
Mid-Columbia semifinalists include:
-- Kamiakin High School: Hannah E. Booth, Brenna R. Duncan, Alexandria C. Miskho, Robin M. Rakowski, Sangeetha Thevuthasan.
-- Hanford High School: Eva Grate, Linda Lu, Katie L. McTighe, Akhila Sriram, Sean A. Stephens, Xi Xie.
-- Richland High School: Douglas E. McKinley.
-- Prosser High School: Hannah J. Sperl.
