Hermiston businesses create advisory group

Hermiston's new business advisory committee will meet for the first time at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 16 at the Hermiston City Hall council chambers.

The committee is expected to help with economic development ideas and major issues facing local businesses, according to city officials.

The committee includes Joe Thompson, owner of East Side Market; Roe Gardner, owner of RoeMark's clothing store; Karen Hutchinson-Talaski, Umatilla Chamber of Commerce executive director; Dennis Barnett, owner of accounting firm Barnett & Moro; Debbie Pedro, Hermiston Chamber of Commerce executive director; Jason Graybeal, president of Graybeal-Ferrant Insurance Agency; and Steve Williams of U.S. Bank in Hermiston.
