International best-selling author Matt Bondurant will be at the Kennewick branch of the Mid-Columbia Libraries at 7 p.m. Thursday to discuss his work and sign copies of his books.
Bondurant is the author of The Wettest County in the World, the tale of his ancestors, three bootlegging brothers who were involved in a moonshine conspiracy during Prohibition.
The book was a New York Times editors' choice and listed as one of the 50 best books of the year by the San Francisco Chronicle. It is also the basis for the movie Lawless, being released in theaters this month.
Bondurant's visit is part of the library system's summer reading program. Several hundred copies of The Wettest County in the World were given away in the weeks leading up to his visit. Library patrons can check at their local branches to see if copies are still available.
