The basics of starting a Tri-City business will be explained in upcoming workshops.
The Washington State University Tri-Cities Business LINKS program will present the Start Smart workshops Aug. 3-13.
Topics that will be covered at each workshop include business plan basics, how to legally launch the business in Benton or Franklin counties, marketing and financing.
The Aug. 3 workshop will be from 10 a.m. to noon at the TRIDEC office at the Tri-Cities Business & Visitor Center, 7130 W. Grandridge Blvd., Kennewick.

The Aug. 13 workshop will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Richland Public Library, 955 Northgate Drive, Richland.
Cost is $25 for up to two people and includes a workbook. Class sizes are limited and pre-registration is required at www.tricity.wsu.edu/links or 372-7101.
The workshops are repeated the second Monday of most months. Sessions are scheduled for Sept. 10, Oct. 8 and Dec. 10.
