Account set up for Franklin County family

An account has been set up by the Franklin County Sheriff's Office to assist a family who had their home broken into early Sunday.

An 11-year-old girl in the home at the Oakdell Egg Farms almost was sexually assaulted by the burglary suspects. She was able to scream for help, and the adults in the home called 911 as the suspects ran off.

Several items were stolen, but later recovered when officers found and arrested Terry M. Hoefler, a 37-year-old registered sex offender who lives in Mesa, sheriff's officials said.

Hoefler and Kable L. Gunter, 38, of West Richland, are being held on $250,000 bail in the Franklin County jail for investigation of residential burglary and first-degree attempted rape.

An account was set up at U.S. Bank to help the family, who was not insured. Donations can be made at any branch to "Family in need from Oakdell Farm."
