KAHLOTUS -- Some Kahlotus residents were without drinking water for half the day Wednesday when a valve on the city's system broke.
City employees were able to make a temporary repair, and all residents affected were notified, said Dorothy Tibbets, the regional manager of the state Department of Health's drinking water operations office in Spokane.
The water was out from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
City crews will need to make a permanent repair of the valve Monday. Water will once again be turned off from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
