Franklin County Coroner Dan Blasdel and former Walla Walla County Coroner Steven Ames have been asked to help look into the death of a man who was shot May 4 in Walla Walla.
Cesar H. Chavira, 22, was shot by John Saul, owner of the New York Store, as Chavira allegedly broke into Saul's business.
The Walla Walla Sheriff's Office has been investigating the case after filing a partial report with county prosecutors in June. Community members have marched in Walla Walla calling for Saul to be charged with a crime.
Six jurors will look at the facts surrounding Chavira's death during the coroner's inquest, said a news release from the Walla Walla County Coroner's Office.
