Herald writer wins reporting awards
Tri-City Herald reporter Ty Beaver received several awards from the Oregon Newspaper Publishers Association on Friday for stories written last year at the paper he previously worked for.
Beaver won first place in the best writing and best enterprise reporting categories for newspapers with circulation between 10,000 and 25,000 in ONPA's Better Newspaper Contest.
He took second place for best spot news story and shared second-place awards for best coverage of business and economic issues and enterprise reporting.
Beaver's stories were published in the Herald and News of Klamath Falls, Ore.
