The Washington State Patrol is displaying the wreckage of a Corvette involved in a 2010 fatal crash at 2440 Stevens Drive in Richland through Thursday.
The wreckage serves as a reminder in Washington River Protection Solutions' campaign against distracted driving. Distracted driving can include texting, talking on a cellphone, eating, drinking, putting on makeup or adjusting audio equipment in the car.
WRPS safety councils are encouraging employees during the campaign to pledge not to use a cellphone while driving.
A driver who looks down to text for five seconds while traveling 60 mph covers a distance longer than a football field without watching the road, according to the state patrol.
