A Sunnyside man and a Moses Lake man were injured Saturday afternoon when their motorcycles collided near Dayton, the Washington State Patrol said.
Louis R. Arquette, 50, was driving a 2010 Harley-Davidson motorcycle about 5:20 p.m. near the centerline of Highway 12 about three miles from Dayton when he moved to the right and struck a 2005 Suzuke motorcycle driven by John B. Christensen, 49, of Moses Lake, according to a state patrol release.
Arquette had minor injuries but declined treatment. The damage to his motorcycle was estimated at $2,000 and it was driven from the scene, the state patrol said.
Christensen was transported by ambulance to Dayton General Hospital. The damage to his motorcycle also was estimated at $2,000. His passenger, Lena R. Christensen, 49, was not injured, the state patrol said.
All parties to the accident were reported to have been wearing U.S. Department of Transportation-compliant helmets.
