Richland will begin a major project on a portion of George Washington Way today that will continue to mid-September.
A & B Asphalt will remove and replace pavement between Jadwin Avenue and Guyer Street, just south of the Uptown Shopping Center.
The project also will include curb, gutter and sidewalk replacements and will begin at the north end, at Guyer Street.
At times, the project will restrict traffic to one lane in each direction.
Two northbound lanes for the morning commute and two southbound lanes for the evening commute will be open.
The project also will include some weekend closures of intersections at Swift and Lee.
