A golf tournament fundraiser at Columbia Point Golf Course today in Richland will benefit heart patient Danny Payne.
Payne, 37, of Richland, has congestive heart failure and needs a transplant.
He is a former radiology technician who now is unemployed because of his illness, and medical bills are expected to exceed $1 million, according to a news release.
The tournament is a four-man scrambler with 8 a.m. tee time. Cost is $400.
The event also will include a silent auction, food and drawing.
Other donations can be made to an account in Payne's name at Gesa Credit Union.
