SOAP LAKE -- Two Lower Yakima Valley residents were injured here Monday when their tractor-trailer rolled off Highway 17.
Juan J. Sanchez, 33, of Sunnyside, was driving a 2001 Freightliner about eight miles north of Soap Lake when he failed to negotiate a left turn, left the roadway to the right, rolled the vehicle and came to rest on its passenger side.
Sanchez and passenger Marcos Guzman-Razo, 23, of Mabton, were taken by ambulance to Columbia Basin Hospital. The truck was totaled.
Both men were treated and later released.
The State Patrol said the accident was the result of inattention and Sanchez, the driver, faces speeding charges.
