Mission seeks 2 cargo vans for meal deliveries

The Tri-City Union Gospel Mission is in need of two reliable full-size cargo vans to pick up donations.

The mission's current vans are old and worn down, officials say. They are used daily to pick up food donations from grocery stores, restaurants, farms and processing plants in the Tri-City area.

A refrigeration van that would help ensure perishable food can be safely transported or a vehicle that has room for interior cargo racks to allow them to sort food as it is picked up would be ideal.

The mission serves more than 6,600 meals each month to homeless people who stay at the agency's shelters and other families in need.

To help, call John Schultz at 547-2112 or send a donation to the mission at P.O. Box 1443, Pasco, WA 99301, and indicate it is for the vans.
