Kennewick native triumphs as 'Biggest Loser' (w/ video)

Kennewick native John Rhode beat out a former NFL football player to earn the title of NBC's The Biggest Loser on Tuesday night's Season 12 finale.

Rhode, who now lives in Mesa, Ariz., earned the title by dropping 220 pounds from his starting weight of 445 pounds.

When the announcement was made, Rhode threw his arms up in the air and looked skyward as confetti exploded everywhere.

Rhode said he never lost sight of becoming Tthe Biggest Loser" from the moment he arrived at the ranch and started training. As Rhode told viewers in an earlier segment of the show, "There is no quit in me, this is how I get it done."

That attitude and eight months of hard work paid off for the $250,000 grand prize.
