Police probing shots fired into Kennewick home

KENNEWICK -- Shots reportedly were fired from a moving car into a Kennewick home early Sunday morning. Nobody was injured.

Maria Riojas, 45, called police shortly before 1 a.m. after she heard several shots fired in front of her home at 704 S. Hawthorne St., said Sgt. Ken Lattin, Kennewick Police, in a statement.

Witnesses reported seeing shots fired at Riojas' house from a maroon minivan or Ford Explorer, Lattin said. The vehicle fled the scene before police arrived.

The shots struck the front of Riojas' house, but nobody was injured.
