PROSSER -- Prosser building and police officials will hold informational meetings today to discuss the city's new Crime Free Rental Housing and Inspection Program.
The program aims to reduce crime in rented homes and apartments through improved communication between police and landlords. Several other Yakima Valley cities, including Yakima, Toppenish and Sunnyside, have similar efforts.
The program is scheduled to take effect Jan. 1. The meetings are at 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. in the Prosser City Council Chambers at City Hall, 601 Seventh St.
