Hank McGuire, a former vice president for Westinghouse Hanford Co., died Saturday in Virginia at age 65.
He first worked in the Tri-City area for what is now Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Richland, supervising research on bioremediation and beneficial uses of radioactive isotopes.
He also worked for Rockwell Hanford Operations as engineering and program manager before being named vice president for environmental restoration and waste management at Westinghouse Hanford.
He later worked for Tetra Tech Inc. as a senior vice president for Department of Energy and nuclear programs before his retirement and work as a consultant.
Donations can be made in his name to the Tri-Cities Cancer Center Foundation, where he was former president.
