Man dies in motorcycle crash north of Pendleton

A Pendleton man was fatally injured after an early morning crash north of Pendleton, the Oregon State Police said.

Carl W. Peak, 61, and his 2006 Harley-Davidson were found after Trooper Trampas McCrae drove up on the crash scene on Highway 11 about 13 miles north of Pendleton around 12:15 a.m. Sunday, the police said.

McCrae provided emergency care until Peak could by transported by helicopter to St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla, where he later died from his injuries, the police said.

The patrol is continuing to investigate the accident, in which alcohol may have been a factor, the report said.
