Rolling minivan drags, injures Kennewick girl

KENNEWICK -- A 7-year-old Kennewick girl was injured Saturday after being caught under her mother's minivan when it rolled out of the driveway in the 500 block of Johnson Street.

Police said the girl and her 9-year-old brother were placing 3-year-old twins in the van while Eva Camora was preparing to take her children to soccer practice.

One of the twins apparently grabbed at the steering wheel controls, causing the van to begin rolling, police said.

The brother had left his sister and twins alone momentarily to report to the mother. His sister fell as the van moved and was dragged some distance by the van.

She was taken to Kennewick General Hospital for treatment of bruises and scrapes. It did not appear she was run over by the van, police said.
