Two Tri-City events will benefit cancer group

Two events this month are aimed at helping the American Childhood Cancer Organization of the Inland Northwest.

Born Again Boxes, Creative Memories and Stampin' Up are teaming up for a craft event called Crop for Kids with Cancer on Saturday.

The event will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at South Hills Church in Kennewick and includes lunch, coffee, door prizes, make-and-take projects and a grab bag.

Cost is $25 if registered by Tuesday or $30 at the door. To register or for more information, call 420 4597.

The second event involves Born Again Boxes, Indulgences Espresso and Delights and the band Bent on Blues offering an evening of music, food and fun Sept. 30.

Pickin' in the Park for Kids Cancer begins at 5:30 p.m. at Flat Top Park in West Richland and includes live music with hamburgers and hot dogs, chips and a drink and children's entertainment. Cost is $5 per person.

All proceeds go to the childhood cancer group, formerly Candlelighters of the Inland Northwest. The organization serves children and families in Eastern Washington, Idaho and Montana to provide support including gas, groceries, toys, parties, educational materials, emotional support and financial assistance.
