Customers of the Basin City Water-Sewer District no longer need to boil their tap water, health officials said Wednesday.
The boil-water advisory was issued Friday after potentially harmful bacteria were detected in the water.
The water system has been disinfected, and lab results on water samples confirm the water meets federal drinking water standards.
A Department of Health engineer, who inspected the system Sunday, believes the contamination likely was caused by recent repair work on one of the system's wells.
