Shir Chadash, or "new song," is the name of recurring services offered Friday at Congregation Beth Sholom, 312 Thayer Drive, Richland, in lieu of regular services.
The Shir Chadash service will continue on the first Friday of each month after skipping October because of a High Holidays conflict.
The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with conversation and learning some new melodies for prayers. There will be appetizer-type noshes to stave off hunger. Services will follow around 6:15 p.m. and will use some of the new tunes in a song-filled service.
