A Kennewick truck driver partially spilled his load of corn Sunday morning when he drove off Interstate 182 and overturned in the median after hitting a pile of gravel.
Adam A. Weinberger, 50, was eventually arrested and booked into the Benton County jail for the 7:22 a.m. crash, which Washington State Patrol troopers suspect may have been caused by driving under the influence.
According to a state patrol report, Weinberger was eastbound in his 2003 Freightliner truck pulling one trailer when he left the highway near Richland. The truck traveled 1,750 feet through the median before hitting the gravel, the report said. That's when it got knocked onto its side, spilling the corn.
The truck was totaled. Troopers don't know if Weinberger was wearing a seat belt in the crash.
