YAKIMA -- Rescuers saved four women who were thrown into the Yakima River after their raft overturned Tuesday evening in Yakima when it hit a downed tree.
The sheriff's office said two men who were with them made it to shore, but the women were stranded on a rock bar. Two of the woman had to be carried to ambulances because of possible hip and leg injuries. All were checked at a hospital.
None of the six young people were wearing life jackets.
