As temperatures rise into the mid-80s today, two Richland children are hoping thirsty residents will stop by their lemonade stand and help them help cancer patients.
Michelle Patrick, 13, and Dylan Doremus, 11, have raised $80 so far for the American Cancer Society with their stand at the corner of Gala Way and Manchester Street in the south Richland Brantingham Heights subdivision.
The pair told the Herald that they are planning to donate all of their proceeds to the cancer society because they think it's important to help people with cancer.
They plan to have the stand set up from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today.
Michelle and Dylan also encourage smartphone users to consider giving through the Touch To Give app, which allows users to choose a cause and then click a button to donate.
Touch To Give is available free through the iTunes app store.
