Miss Tri-Cities finishes in top 8 at state pageant

Miss Tri-Cities Adrienne Bousquet of Richland finished in the top eight in the Miss Washington pageant last weekend in Renton. Brittany Henry, Miss Eastside, won the title of Miss Washington this year.

Dot Stewart, executive director of the Miss Tri-Cities Scholarship Pageant, said, "Adrienne did an awesome job representing the Tri-Cities. We are extremely proud of her."

Bousquet will crown the next Miss Tri-Cities later this month.

Eighteen young women from the Tri-Cities will be competing for scholarship money and glittery tiaras in the pageants.

The Miss Tri-Cities Outstanding Teen pageant, for ages 13-16, is July 22 and will star the 2011 Miss Washington Outstanding Teen, Nicole Renard, with guest emcees Charlotte Smith Shores, Miss Tri-Cities 2006, and Ky Burton, a recent graduate of Chiawana High School in Pasco.

The Miss Tri-Cities Pageant, for ages 17 to 24, is July 23, starring Bousquet, with guest emcees Kevin Uretsky, KVEW news anchor, and Angela Kirkman Johnson, Miss Tri-Cities 1996.

Both pageants begin at 7 p.m. at Kennewick High School in the Art Fuller Auditorium. Tickets are $20.

The Miss Tri-Cities Scholarship Program, sponsored by the Tri-City Water Follies Association, hopes to provide $30,000 in scholarships this year. Donations are being accepted.
