Fire damages 12-plex in Kennewick on Sunday

Three families were displaced from their apartments after fire damaged a Kennewick 12-plex Sunday.

The fire started in a building at the Woodland Park Apartments in the 600 block of South Kent Street about 9 a.m.

Kennewick fire Battalion Chief Tod Kreutz said the fire appeared to have started inside the building and spread to the three apartments and the building's roof.

Another three apartments had smoke or water damage, he said. No one was injured in the blaze.

The cause is under investigation.
