Ed Johnson and Neal O'Hearn of Attalia were arrested and each charged with committing a gross misdemeanor and neglect in not informing the general public of their intentions to take a wife and were fined on-half gallon of "licker" by the judge. In lieu of the fine the defendants were chained to a post on the depot platform until some kill-joy released them.
