PASCO -- Pasco police department explorers are on their way to the other Washington for National Police Week.
Six explorers will be heading to Washington, D.C., today and will attend the National Peace Officers' Memorial Service on Sunday.
They also will tour the U.S. Capitol and federal law enforcement agencies during their weeklong visit.
The explorers are a group of 16 to 20 year olds interested in pursing a career in law enforcement. They work under the direction of the police department to enhance their knowledge of the police profession and provide a valuable community service, officials said.
The trip is paid for by a scholarship from the Fraternal Order of Police.
