McNary National Wildlife Refuge is offering an Earth Day cleanup activity from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. Crews will clean the area around the environmental education center, the hunt blinds, on Casey Pond and the beaches along the peninsula unit.
To participate, bring gloves, sturdy shoes, drink and food. To be in the land cleanup crew, meet at the McNary Education center at 9 a.m. For those who want to clean up the water, bring a kayak or canoe to Casey Pond. All water participants must wear a properly fitting personal floatation device.
