The Richland School Board plans to run a maintenance and operations levy election in February 2012.
The board voted this week on the levy election in general terms and has not decided how much money it would ask for and how that will affect property tax rates in Richland, said Steve Aagaard, a district spokesman.
The current levy expires at the end of 2012. The new proposal would replace it. Levy money makes up about 15 percent of the operating budget.
A levy committee will meet 6 p.m. April 28 at the administration building at 615 Snow Ave.
