A phone outage Friday affected Prosser residents trying to call the nonemergency dispatch line, officials said.
Calls to 911 from Prosser are not affected, said Sara Schwartz, Benton County Emergency Services spokeswoman.
Prosser residents trying to call 786-2112 instead should call 509-628-0333 if they need to make a non-emergency call. It will be a long-distance call.
The outage only appears to affect nonemergency calls between Prosser and the dispatch center in Richland, which answers calls for the Prosser area.
