Valoria Loveland, former director of the State Department of Agriculture, will be honored at tonight's annual Mid-Columbia Agriculture Hall of Fame Awards event.
A proclamation by Gov. Chris Gregoire honoring Loveland for her hard work and dedication to the Washington agriculture industry will be read by Ed Ray, last year's recipient.
The event sponsored by the Port of Pasco and the Pasco Chamber of Commerce will be at the Pasco Red Lion beginning at 6 p.m.
Loveland, who also was a former Franklin County treasurer and state representative for the 16th District, will receive the Agriculture Visionary Award and be recognized for 44 years of public service.
