Emergency weight restrictions start at noon today on many Franklin County roads.
Franklin County Public Works sets the restrictions for overweight vehicles, such as semi-trucks and dump trucks, because of the quick thawing of the recent frozen roads.
When roads thaw quickly, the material under the road gets soft and heavy vehicles can cause a lot of road damage, said Ron Horn, county road superintendent.
Horn said they will remove the restrictions as soon as possible.
