PROSSER -- The deadline for voters to update their registration information to vote in the February bond election for a new Prosser High School is Jan. 10.
Voters who have moved recently should contact the auditor's office to verify their address is correct. Those who have recently moved from another county in Washington also have until Jan. 10 to have their registration transferred to Benton County.
Those who are new to the state or have never registered to vote have a few extra days. New voters can register in person only at the auditor's office until Jan. 31.
Voters will be asked on Feb. 8 to consider a $41.3 million, 20-year bond to pay for building a new high school east of Art Fiker Stadium.

The school district expects to receive an additional $23.5 million in matching state money. The new high school would open in time for the 2014-15 school year.
Voters can expect to see ballots in their mailbox beginning Jan. 19. The district has 5,336 registered voters.
